R407C HFC Refrigerant R407C is an HFC refrigerant blend used as a replacement for R22 in air-conditioning systems and medium-temperature refrigeration applications.
Designed with comparable physical and thermodynamic properties to R22, R407C is suitable for a range of commercial refrigeration, industrial refrigeration, domestic air-conditioning and commercial air-conditioning applications. As a zeotropic blend containing R32, R125 and R134a, R407C must be charged from the liquid phase to maintain accurate refrigerant composition during service and installation.

R407C must be handled by appropriately licensed refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians. Charge from the liquid phase to maintain the correct blend composition. Store cylinders in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Always refer to the current A-Gas Safety Data Sheet and equipment manufacturer guidance before use.
A-Gas notes that R407C can be used for retrofit of existing R22 installations and water chillers, but it cannot be used for systems with flooded evaporation. Compressor oil compatibility must also be checked, as the compressor must be charged with polyolester oil.
The A-Gas R407C refrigerant is a practical R22 replacement option for suitable air-conditioning and medium-temperature refrigeration systems where a non-flammable A1 HFC blend is required.
